Ronald E. Worthen, P.C.
Ronald E. Worthen graduated from the University of Arkansas where he received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He received his law degree from the same University in 1968. He received his license to practice law in Arkansas in 1968 and his Oklahoma license in 1970. From 1968 to 1969 he served as law clerk to the Honorable Oren Harris, Chief Judge of the United States District Court, Western District of Arkansas and a Judge of the Easter District of Arkansas. After active duty in the Oklahoma National Guard, he practiced in Ardmore, Oklahoma from 1970 to 1973. In January 1973 he was appointed as First Assistant District Attorney of the Twentieth Judicial District and in 1974 he was elected as District Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial District.
He has served on the Board Of Directors for the Oklahoma District Attorneys' Association and was appointed to The District
Attorneys' Training Counsel by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. Also served on the legislative committee of the
Oklahoma Bar Association and was Vice Chairman of The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board in 1999. Also served as a memeber
of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma and a memeber of the Board of the Oklahoma Wildlife Federation. During
his service with the Oklahoma National Guard he was awarded The Oklahoma Commendation Medal. He has served as President of the Carter
County Bar Association and currently serves as treasurer of that organization. In 1992 he received The Clarence Darrow Award
from The Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and in 1998 he received an Award from Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma, Inc. for
Outstanding Pro Bono work. He is a member of The Oklahoma Bar Association; The Arkansas Bar Association; The Oklahoma Criminal Defense
Lawyers Association; The National Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Family Law section of The Oklahoma Bar Association.
In 2006 he was listed in Oklahoma Magazine's list of Oklahoma Super Lawyers and elected as a Fellow of The Litigation Counsel
of America, Trial Lawyer Honorary Society in 2007. He is a member, Diversity Law Institute and Member, The Trial Law Institute. He
is licensed to practice in the Oklahoma and Arkansas; The United States Districts Courts for The Eastern and Western Districtsof Oklahoma; The United States District Courts for The Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma;The United States Court of Appeals for
the Tenth Circuit. He is a deacon of The First Missionary Baptist Church Ardmore. He is an active member of the Ardmore Ducks
Unlimited Committee, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the NRA.
